Inclusion and Wellbeing

All My Feelings are OK:  Inclusion and Wellbeing at Kerem

At Kerem, the wellbeing of all our pupils is paramount.  We are we are committed to inclusion and strive to ensure that all pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. We recognise that many children have a range of needs, both educational and emotional, and may have different starting points or learning styles.

We ensure that children have suitable, supportive provision in order for them to achieve individual targets and to progress and provide this additional support either 1:1, in small groups, or in class, depending on the needs of the child.

We are extremely proud of our Wellbeing Room, managed by our dedicated Wellbeing Practitioner, Mr Portnoi, who is in school with us every day to provide social and emotional support for all those who need it.

We are so delighted to have been awarded the Optimus Wellbeing Award for schools which recognises how we prioritise the Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing of everyone at Kerem. In order to achieve this, our provision and its impact was monitored over an 18 month period and judged to be excellent.

We are also extremely proud of the broad range of interventions we can provide.

These include:

  • 1:1 Counselling
  • Fine Motor Skills/handwriting
  • Finger Gym

Working with external therapists and agencies

Some children may need external support from a specialist such as an Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, Developmental Paediatrician or a Counsellor.  We also refer to agencies such as Norwood and CAMHs (Child and Adult Mental Services).  We support parents through the referral process and liaise with specialists so that we can best support your child.

Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions relating to your child

Our Mental Health and Inclusion Lead is Mrs Amy Berkovi  – aberkovi@keremschool.co.uk
